Hi there!
What else is there to tell about me?
How did it all start? With the design and all that...
My name is Anja, I am a freelance surface pattern designer and the creative soul of my label Vandyra® Design, which is based in North Friesland. Due to life's adversities, I have exchanged the “syringe” (medical activity) for the pen. I have turned my favorite long-term hobby into a profession, so to speak.
My bubbling creativity
It is a rescue anchor and my daily meditation injection. I always feel inspired anew. The flow can take hold of me everywhere and cast a spell over me.
My sources of inspiration
The vastness of the sea. The scent of the forest. In general, nature and the animal world are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. The diversity of life, small moments that I encounter every day and the dark beauty and melancholy of the night give me enough impetus.
My irrepressible thirst for knowledge
I'm always on the lookout for new creative topics that I want to delve deeper into. New discoveries and ideas make me shine. I love experimenting with all kinds of materials, colors and shapes. Through intensive further training and workshops, I deepen my knowledge and expand my artistic repertoire.I get to know different techniques and styles. In short, “I am the happy, eternal learner”.
Pencil meets mouse and gets on well with the knife
I work traditionally with pen, brush, paint and paper, but I also make use of the many digital possibilities without the use of artificial intelligence (AI). I still have an imaginative mind that wants to be kept on its toes. I like to combine different styles and techniques in my designs to create a special and lively atmosphere. I also use the knife from time to time for linocutting.
My favorite digital tool case contains:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Inkscape and Procreate.
a pinch of craziness
My playful dancing spirit thrives on fun and joie de vivre. I like to laugh at myself and at the little things in life. Humor is an important part of my life, and I enjoy working with people who are like-minded. Among other things, I love funny double meanings of words and puns. “Is baking cakes actually an art without bread?”
